Live volunteer chat terms and limitations
Read this before requesting or supporting a human-support chat.
Service boundary: Chat availability is not guaranteed. This service does not provide emergency response, phone support, banking action, legal advice, or law-enforcement reporting.
What chat is for
Chat is a consent-gated way to ask a trained volunteer for general safety guidance after a suspected scam or account takeover. Volunteers cannot move money, recover accounts, contact institutions for you, or confirm that an event is fraud.
What not to share
- Passwords, PINs, one-time codes, recovery phrases, or private keys.
- Full payment-card, bank-account, or Social Security numbers.
- Private case details that are not needed for general guidance.
Consent and retention
Your request shares chat context only after explicit consent. Messages may be retained under the configured privacy rules. Availability and response time vary, and a volunteer may not be available.
Ending a chat
You may cancel a queued request or end an active chat. Do not wait for a volunteer if you are in immediate danger; contact emergency services or the institution using a trusted number you already have.
